Scotch Highland single malt producer Old Pulteney is expanding its global travel retail portfolio.
The travel-exclusive Old Pulteney 13 Years Old is set to be officially launched at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition in May. It will initially be available in key European and UK locations with a suggested price of £65 per one-litre bottle.
Initially matured in American oak casks, the whisky has been finished in Spanish oak casks and bottled at 43% ABV. Tasting notes from the Pulteney Distillery team say the expression has notes of coconut, citrus, vanilla custard, and candied almonds, with the distinctive coastal notes of the ‘Maritime Malt’.
It joins Old Pulteney’s current travel retail line-up, which includes the 10 Years Old and 16 Years Old single malts.
Malcolm Waring, Pulteney Distillery manager, said: “The launch of Old Pulteney 13 Years Old reaffirms our commitment to investing in the global travel retail channel and we are confident that it will be a welcome addition to our range.
“Each of our travel retail whiskies embodies Pulteney Distillery’s signature coastal style, with a distinctive flavour that comes from being matured by the sea and striking modern maritime inspired packaging that perfectly reflects the whisky inside.”
