Scotch single malt brand Glen Moray is to be listed in World Duty Free stores at major UK airports in a new partnership with travel retailer Dufry.
The Elgin-based whisky distillery, owned by La Martiniquaise-Bardinet (LMB-UK), will see three whiskies from its Heritage Collection – the 12 Years Old, 15 Years Old, and 18 Years Old – go on sale at World Duty Free outlets at London Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports in England, and Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen airports in Scotland from January 2023.
Each of the Heritage Collection expressions will be bottled in a 1-litre format and at a slightly higher strength of 48% ABV for World Duty Free. Special ‘Explorer’ gift packs featuring 5cl tasters of the Speyside distillery’s Classic Collection (Elgin Classic, Port Cask Finish, Sherry Cask Finish, and Peated Single Malt) will also go on sale.
The deal with Dufry follows a year of celebrations for Glen Moray’s 125th anniversary in 2022.
Jamie Stewart, UK commercial director for LMB-UK, said: “This is a great start to the year and another fantastic milestone for Glen Moray, having celebrated 125 years of whisky making at our Elgin distillery last year. I’m delighted that millions of local and global travellers will now be able to purchase a sip of Speyside on their way through the airport, and I look forward to hearing what travellers think of our classic Speyside malts.”
Eve Fifer, commercial director for World Duty Free in the UK, added: “At World Duty Free, we love working with brands of character and quality that truly exemplify the places they represent. Glen Moray represents the very best of Speyside whisky making and we’re delighted to be able to bring their single malts to our duty-free customers.”
