Bethany Whymark – 8.4
Nose: Prominent spicy aroma with black pepper, nutmeg, cubeb and coriander. Sweet ginger, like stem ginger biscuits, with orange citrus and oily juniper notes.
Palate: Still spicy with some sweet baking spice notes of clove and nutmeg. Waxy juniper and orange peel, with sweet, musky angelica.
Finish: Lingering juniper and a hint of turmeric latte.
Comments: A nicely made London Dry with some enjoyable highlights. This would be a treat lengthened with ginger ale.
Phoebe Calver – 8.3
Nose: Like a citrus fruit basket, bringing chunks of orange to the fore, with some rather punchy peppery notes of juniper in there.
Palate: Delicate, with more of the citrus fruit, peppery spice, and earthy juniper.
Finish: Follows suit from the nose and palate – relatively short.
Comments: It’s simple and classic.
