Bethany Whymark – 7.9

Nose: Fiery ginger and a herbal note of lemon thyme. Some deep juniper notes come through with a little citrus peel and spicy coriander.
Palate: Nice slippery mouthfeel.  The profile of this feels very classic, with a nice interplay of juniper, citrus, spice, and slightly woody notes.
Finish: Warmth dries it out quite quickly. Resinous juniper and a tiny savoury hint of parsley.
Comments: While it’s quite warm for the proof, this gin has a pleasant character that would stand up to mixing in many classic cocktails.

Phoebe Calver – 8.1

Nose: It’s like walking through a forest on a spring morning, dewy and fresh, with lemon zest and orange segments.
Palate: The juniper makes an appearance here, followed by the lingering orange segments, a little spice of anise, and lemon juice.
Finish: The anise really kicks off here and lingers on a long finish.
Comments: I like the freshness and also the cheeky character that this gin shows.
